The Washington Capitals just can’t get away from participating in playoff series against teams based in New York. The Rangers and Caps have squared off four times in the last six seasons, but this time it’s the Islanders that will be trying to knock off Alex Ovechkin and Co.

We already previewed this series elsewhere, and it has the potential to be can’t-miss television. Both of these organizations have something to prove in 2015. The Islanders want to show that they should be recognized as playoff mainstays, while the Capitals are out to make the Eastern Conference Final for the first time since drafting Ovechkin back in 2004.

There’s a little something for everyone here. Some heavy hitters play on both sides, and hockey fans won’t want to miss the high-end players that will be on the ice each night. As the series gets started on April 15, what storylines should devotees be watching out for?

Before you ask: No, how on Earth will the Islanders stop Ovechkin from scoring won’t be one of them.
