For the first time ever, the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild will meet in the playoffs. The Blues have been perennial Stanley Cup contenders for years, but that has not translated to success in the postseason. This year they’re in the best position they’ve ever been to make a playoff run.

The Wild won a hard-fought first round series against the Colorado Avalanche last year before losing to Chicago Blackhawks. They are hoping to build on that success, and to also build on their remarkable second half of 2014-15.

There will be several storylines that will run throughout this evenly matched series. Let’s take a look at some of the biggest points to consider that may ultimately decide this first round matchup.
