Don’t Snow the Goalie is the women’s hockey podcast that treats women’s sports like sports and not special interest stories.
On the 25th episode of Don’t Snow the Goalie, Hannah Bevis, Kate Cimini and Kate Reeher tackle difficult problems, such as climate change, who to retain between season on the NWHL’s Connecticut Whale, what the semifinals will look like for the Whale and the Beauts and what is up with the NWHL and CWHL end-of-season awards.
Cimini serves as Don’t Snow the Goalie’s resident expert on the Connecticut Whale, rounding out our four-part series focusing on each team in the NWHL. Cimini talks retention, x-factors for the Whale’s upcoming playoff series against the Beauts and weaknesses.
The recently announced CWHL and NWHL awards were also up for discussion, focusing on CWHL nominees announced today and contemplated who Bevis, Cimini and Reeher thought might win each award before moving on to briefly discussing who could snag some hardware in the NWHL.
The Team USA Worlds roster was next on the docket: who made the cut? Who was snubbed were? Who should fan keep an eye on? The Pride of Boston, Gigi Marvin, was left off the roster and all three hosts looked at some of the newer players on the roster.
Reeher, Bevis and Cimini wrapped up the podcast with a mailbag session about potential upsets (spoilers: You’re going to want to watch the Inferno/Thunder series this weekend) and who each would pick for their CWHL / NWHL league MVP.
