Fantasy Hockey: DraftKings Lineup – February 22

A vital part of being a successful DraftKings DFS hockey player is being able to assemble a strong cash game or double up team. I always start with the goaltender, the foundation of every cash game team. Your goalie choice dictates the monetary average and direction you want to go with the rest of your team.

Tonight’s 4 game slate requires precision since leaving out a single player can make or break your cash game or double up game. Do your homework and think like they would. And remember, think positive – you’re picking winners!

G: B. Elliot, St. Louis – $8,400
Elliot has been spectacular since coming in to replace Jake Allen 17 games ago. Since then he is 12-3-2 with a 1.76 Goals Against Average and a 0.943 Save Percentage. He will see a ton of shots tonight and has his hands full. The Blues have been playing great hockey and are 4th in the league with the No. 1 penalty kill. Even without Steen, the Blues are likely to grab a win at home.

D: J. Carlson, Washington – $5,800
The Coyotes are a perfect recipe for Washington and their troublesome power play tonight in the capital. The quarterback with the puck, Carlson has 25 assists and 101 shots this year. Playing over 24 minutes a game, he will put points on the board either on the power play or even strength.

D: R. Ellis, Nashville – $4,000
Ellis is a nice value play averaging 2.5 Fantasy Points per game (FPPG) and a 114 shot total this year. With 24 points, look for him to hit his mark and maybe grab a special teams goal in Montreal tonight.

W: B. Marchand, Boston – $6,900
This is a great home matchup for the Bruins against Columbus who is dead last in goals allowed. With Boston playing great, Marchand is a must play. He has thirty goals and 177 shots on the year, need I say more?

W: F. Forsberg, Nashville – $5,700
That’s a nice price for Forsberg who has 20 goals already this year. In Montreal, look for him to tally a few points on the power play tonight. With 173 shots on the year, he will have quality chances tonight against a team that consistently turns the puck over.

W: B. Gallagher, Montreal – $6,000
I wish Gallagher was on a different team, as he is so talented and fun to watch play. A balanced 15 goals and 17 assists, he likes to shoot the puck as well, with 137 shots on the year.

C: B. Bergeron, Boston – $7,100
Bergeron has been on a tear as of late and is my Boston double stack (in that they play on the same line) with Marchand tonight. The the matchup is too good to pass up and not have exposure to on such a small 4 game slate. Bergeron and Marchand could have a field day if Boston plays like it has been. Chalk one up for Bergeron tonight!

C: N. Backstrom, Washington – $6,700
The straw that stirs the drink, Backstrom’s ability to find the open man and shoot with accuracy makes him worth every penny. Almost 40 assists already this year , Backstrom averages 3.5 FPPG and has a great matchup and is part of my Washington stack tonight.

Utility: A. Ovechkin, Washington – $9,100
Tonight I have no problem paying up for Ovi as he and Backstrom should do a number on the Coyotes tonight. Arizona is second to last in goals allowed as a team and have looked terrible defensively since Domingue decided to come back to earth in his goaltending ability. If you’re low on funds and want to go another way, check out the Capitals’ second line instead.  Stack it up!
