Fantasy Hockey: DraftKings Lineup – February 20

A vital part of being a successful DraftKings DFS hockey player is being able to assemble a strong cash game or double up team. I always start with the goaltender, the foundation of every cash game team. Your goalie choice dictates the monetary average and direction you want to go with the rest of your team.

This Saturday night with 8 games on the slate, I tried to look for both value picks and advantageous matchups combined, to assemble the best team with the lowest risk.

G: P. Mrazek, Detroit – $7,700

Mrazek finds himself in a prime spot to get a win in Ottawa tonight.  Boasting one of the best Goals Against Averages with 2.11, his 0.927 save percentage is just as strong. It’s very likely he gets the win tonight.

D: K. Shattenkirk, St. Louis – $6,5000

Against a frenetic Arizona team the St. Louis Blues’ steady defense should be on point. Look for the power play to get a few goals tonight as the Coyotes rank 26th on the Penalty Kill.  Shattenkirk averages 3.5 Fantasy Points per game (FFPG) and has 131 shots on the year, making him a good pick for this matchup.

D: S. Gostisbehere, Flyers – $5,900

The “Ghost Bear” is in Toronto against a team that is ranked 24th in goals allowed as a team.  Look for him to hit his 3.5 FPPG average and continue his scoring streak.

W: V. Tarasenko, St. Louis – $7,100

I’ll pay up for Tarasenko any day he plays Arizona, who gives up goals by the dozen.  I want him on the team for the power play presence he brings.  Lock him in.

W: J. Eberle, Edmonton – $5,900

Against a terrible Corsi team in Colorado, I want exposure to this line, that recently has included wunderkind Connor McDavid, and strong scorer Benoit Pouliot. I see this line and the Oilers’ power play unit hitting the score sheet big time tonight. With 34 points on the year, Eberle is a strong play for value.

W: J. Iginla, Colorado – $4,500

Coming off a 2 goal game, Iginla is producing more since moving up to join the first line.  Deadly on the power play as well, look for Iginla to have a hand in the scoring tonight.

C: P. Datsyuk, Detroit – $6,200

I am locking Datsyuk into all my lineups with his matchup against Ottawa.   On both the power play and even strength, he will be all over the Senators as they average 5 penalties taken a game.  I’m betting big time on Detroit’s veteran scorer to come through.

C: C. Giroux, Flyers – $7,000

Playing much better, the Flyers face a sub par Toronto team that allows more than 3 goals a game.  Look for the power play and new first line to produce and get the two points the Flyers badly need to stay in the playoff race.

Utility: D. Larkin, Detroit – $5,600

The cog that turns the Detroit team, look for Larkin to find his scoring touch again and spark his team to a big win in Ottawa tonight.  A good value for his price, Larkin will get it done this evening.
