DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup – April 9

(Jose Quiroz/Icon Sportswire)

Today is the biggest day in the NHL as 80 percent of the games have some sort of playoff implication. With plenty of starters sitting, be sure to check the starting lineups throughout the day. All 30 NHL teams are in action.

DraftKings is running all sorts of $1 to $3 satellites to upcoming NHL playoff GPP’s that will start running the week of the playoffs. If you only want to play a few dollars, ‘Step Games’ are a loads of fun to play and last for days. Ten people, a single entry, only $2 and you have to hit top two spots to move on. Third and fourth get a free ticket to start over on the same Step 1 contest of their choosing. It builds until Step 4, the end, that slates six players and top two win $200.

Here we go with the lineup on the best day of the regular season:

G – C. Schneider – Devils – $7,400

Schneider will come in and play strong against a Toronto team that ranks last in goals scored. A n emotional game tonight in Newark, Schneider and the Devils will look to end their season on a positive note and get the win for his fans at the Rock in the Brick City. It will be an emotional because Patrik Elias prepares to play what will most likely be his last game. Elias never got the recognition he deserved, but he always found the back of the net when it counted and will always be remembered.

D – M. Giordano – Calgary – $7,400

Look for Giordano to have a strong showing tonight against the Wild and play his usual 20+ minutes for a team that can put up points in bunches.

D – R. Suter – Wild – $6,000

Expect Suter to play his usual minutes on the back-end tonight for the Wild who play at home against a Calgary team that has been putting up goals a little to late. Running the power play as well, Suter and the Wild will play hard for the hometown fans.

W – K. Palmieri – Devils – $5,400

Palmieri will be going for his 30th goal against a Toronto team that needs to lose to get the first pick and who rank 27th in goals allowed. I like Palmieri to shoot the puck a ton en route to at least one goal. He will not be denied tonight.

W – D. Sedin – Vancouver – $5,900

Never a strong play, but tonight Vancouver has a good matchup against Edmonton. Vancouver has played its best hockey when it counted the least, but are still gunning for positions and spots for next season. Sedin will prove tonight that he has another season or two in him as the first line gets on the board at home tonight in Vancouver.

W – J. Colborne – Calgary – $3,600

Colborne has come alive in the past few weeks and played well for Calgary in his second-line role. Playing on the first power play unit, Colborne and Gaudreau have proven to be a great combo.

C – B. Horvat – Vancouver – $3,700

Horvat is another second-line player that jumps up to the first power play unit at times. He will be without Sven Baertschi, who is injured tonight, but will see plenty of time on the man-advantage against the lowly Oilers.

C – T. Hall – Edmonton – $6,300

Hall gets overlooked at times with all the hype around Connor McDavid. Both players are dynamite and Hall commands just as much respect. Hall averaged 4.0 FPPG this year on a losing team that also ranked in the bottom five in goals scored.

Utility – M. Backlund – Calgary – $4,300

Backlund has come from out of nowhere to 20 goals this season and he’s still going. I see him continuing his great play as fantasy players should stick with the hot hand. A power play killer who has the second most short-handed goals this year, Backlund is one to watch tonight and next season.
