DraftKings Lineup – March 9

Good news! Our line up from yesterday held on and won last night in our 50/50 DraftKings matchup. Jeff Skinner was the big man on campus with 2 goals as the Hurricanes did exactly what I said and scored goals to support Cam Ward. They came from 2 goals down to do it too. Pavelski and Brassard each had a solid game, with a goal and assist each, with Yandle, Forsberg and Donskoi getting assists. Hertl disappeared on me with a lone shot, and Liles and the Bruins couldn’t get one by Bishop till overtime.

Looking ahead, here’s what we’re betting on for tonight’s slate:

G: T. Greiss, Islanders – $8,000
Now that it looks like Halak will be out, the Islanders need a strong showing from their new main man in net. A 2.20 goals against average and 0.930 save percentage, Greiss faces a Toronto team that is 28th in team scoring. Look for the Islanders to continue to roll and fine tune their game for a run at the Cup.

D: M. Ekholm, Nashville – $4,100
Still on the road trip, Nashville heads into Calgary tonight to face a team struggling on defense. Ekholm brings 2nd unit Power Play time to the table with 29 points. Look for Nashville to score at least 3 goals tonight in Alberta as Calgary will continue to give up goals at home.

D: N. Leddy, Islanders – $4,600
Leddy played well last night and will look to add to that against Toronto tonight. With 30 assists already, Leddy will try to hit the five goal mark and add to his 94 shots on goal. The Islanders will look to take advantage of a poor Toronto penalty kill that ranks 24th in the league.

W: F. Forsberg, Nashville – $6,600
In Calgary tonight, Forsberg will continue his assault on teams as he picks apart the Flames at the Saddledome. Having a monster year with 28 goals and 24 assists, Forsberg and the first power play unit will get a ton of quality chances and capitalize on Calgary’s turnovers. Nashville is due for a big game.

W: D. Perron, Anaheim – $4,700
Perron and the Ducks are one of the best teams in the NHL these days. Coming from last to first in the division is not an easy task and now that Anaheim is peaking at the perfect time, they look scary for a quality playoff run. Perron has 12 goals this year and 141 shots on net. Tonight he and Perry will capitalize on a Colorado team that is a terrible possession team.

W: C. Perry, Anaheim – $6,400
As mentioned above, Perry and Perron have been on fire lately and the Ducks are winning. Perry has 29 goals so far this year with 184 shots to boot. Tonight this line will produce some points and help Anaheim hand Colorado another home loss in Denver.

C: F. Nielsen, Islanders – $5,800
The Islanders will get the job done tonight and I want exposure to the second line and second power play unit Nielsen represents. With 19 goals this year, Nielsen will get #20 tonight as this line continues its torrid pace.

C: R. Kesler, Anaheim – $5,300
Many speculate that Kesler was hurt for most of the beginning of the year, which could explain part of the reason why Anaheim struggled offensively to start the year. Kesler commands attention on the second line and gets plenty of ice time on the power play as well. This line will win the battles tonight and capitalize on sloppy play by the Avalanche.

Utility: B. Nelson, Islanders – $4,300
Rounding out the team is Brock Nelson who plays on the 1st line with Tavares which gets me exposure to all of the Islanders’ top six, as well as both power play units. Nelson has 22 goals this year and is a pure goal scorer. With the Islanders revving up for the playoffs, look for them to open it up and gut the Leafs in Toronto tonight.
