Last night was a great night, as Barkov and the Panthers came back to beat the Canadiens and roll on towards the playoffs. Tonight we have a mini slate of 4 games, so instead of picking apart teams and matchups, we are gonna stack 2 teams and look to hit the board with both lines on a few goals.
G: J.Allen, St. Louis – $7,700
Allen will look to support his argument for the starting spot for the start of the playoffs. The Blues have looked like the team to beat and tonight I expect Allen and his team to cover their bases, play a solid game, and get the win against a team that won’t make the postseason.
D: M.Scandella, Minnesota – $3,700
I am continuing my Wild defensive support with the minutes Scandella has been logging since they have been short on the back end. Scandella is paired with Brodin, and the two should see more than 50 minutes combined and hopefully hit the board, as Winnipeg is in the bottom five in goals allowed.
D: J.Brodin, Minnesota – $2,700
Brodin and Scandella are the second defensive pairing on a Wild team desperate for a win. They play in Winnipeg tonight against a team that allows an average of 2.91 goals per game. I like one of these two to get a point or two tonight.
W: J. McGinn, Anaheim – $4,500
Anaheim will be missing Rakell and Pirri tonight, so a few people will be seeing a lot more ice. McGinn will get great value for his price and playing on both the first line and power play unit, I expect this game to see a lot of goals, as does Vegas.
W: J.Lehtera, St. Louis – $4,000
Lehtera is now on the first line with Steen and Tarasenko, which can only help boost his confidence and give him good value for his low price.
W: C.Perry, Anaheim – $6,500
Perry is a great complement to his linemates on the first line and power play unit. Tonight I expect him to lead his team against a hot Dallas team that hopefully saw a little to much of L.A. last night, as they’re playing their second in as many days.
C: A.Steen, St. Louis – $6,100
Steen is healthy and back on the top line with one of the best players in the world. With 17 goals and 33 assists in 63 games, Steen is heating up at the right time as the Blues look like the team to beat.
C: R. Getzlaf, Anaheim – $6,800
Getzlaf and his line will look to get on the Stars early as they will be playing their second game in 2 days. Dallas is 20th in the league 5-on-5 giving up 2.81 goals a game as a team while leading the NHL in goals for. Something has to give here as the two collide in Anaheim tonight.
Utility: V. Tarasenko, St. Louis – $7,400
Tarasenko ranks in the top 10 in individual shot attempts, and against a Colorado team that turns the puck over and allows a ton of scoring chances, look for Tarasenko to put up some points tonight. Already with 33 goals so far, look for him to add to that as the Blues best the Avalanche tonight in Colorado.
