There’s only about a month and a half left in the DraftKings DFS season, as the playoffs start in a few weeks. With teams clamping down defensively getting ready to make a run for the Cup, I am looking for teams and players motivated by the playoffs against teams that are poor defensively and likely out of the running.

G: B. Bishop, Tampa Bay – $8,100
At home tonight, Bishop faces a better Toronto team but one that still lacks scoring depth. A terrific season so far, Bishop boasts a stellar 2.1 goals against average and 0.926 save percentage rounding out a 33 win season. Tampa will look to rebound against Toronto and maintain their spot atop the rankings.

D: O. Ekman-Larsson, Arizona – $6,000
With Stone sidelined, Ekman-Larsson will play even more, and he already logs upwards of 25 minutes a night. He commands respect on the point and is an offensive juggernaut. Against Calgary at home, he is my number one defensive play.

D: J. Garrison, Tampa Bay – $2,900
With Stralman out with a broken fibula, Garrison will see more time on the ice and power play to make up for the loss. A great value tonight at home, He will hit the board as he has 95 blocked shots and 85 shots on goal.

W: A. Ovechkin, Washington – $8,600
Ovi is at one of the lowest prices he has been at all year. Quiet as of late, tonight I expect him to have a monster game and light up the Blue Jackets who rank 29th in 5-on-5 goals allowed.

W: C. Perry, Anaheim – $6,500
Perry has looked great lately and Anaheim came back from a 3 goal deficit to beat Ottawa the other night. Perry has 31 goals this year and I look to him to lead tonight and get on the board in Edmonton.

W: M. Domi, Arizona – $4,700
Domi is a darkhorse for the rookie of the year and has 18 goals already this season. He spends a good amount of time on the number one power play unit, too. Vegas likes this game to go upwards of 5.5 goals and I expect it to.

C: R. Rakell, Anaheim – $4,900
Scoring the overtime winner the other night, Rakell has the hot hand and is on a line with Perry. Twenty goals and 21 assists this year, Rakell is heating up at the right time.

C: M. Hanzal, Arizona – $4,200
On the line with Domi as well as the same power play unit, Hanzal has been playing well this year and has 36 points so far. I see this line putting up points to get it done tonight at home.

Utility: M. Johansson, Washington – $3,900
A third-line player who gets time on the first power play unit, Johannsson shows you how deep the team is and how good the Capitals will need to be to win the Cup. Tonight against Columbus, Washington is likely to come alive and show their true colors. I’m predicting a blowout.
