Photoessay: Boston Pride Lead the League

The Boston Pride took a decisive lead Feb. 14 in the game against the Connecticut Whale, where they stomped on Connecticut’s hopes of leading the league for the rest of the regular season.

In the Pride’s last home game of the season Boston brought home the win when the Connecticut Whale suffered a series of mishaps during the second period and a lack of energy. Boston, who never lacked for energy at a moment throughout the game, was thrilled to win not only the game but the league standings on Denna Laing Day with their rehabilitating teammate watching from the stands.

Boston and Connecticut face off again on Sunday, this time at the Whale’s home rink of Chelsea Piers. The battle for the top spot is expected to be fierce, as there are only two regular season games left before the teams prepare for the first ever NWHL playoffs.
