Per a press release, the NWHL has released the preseason schedule for 2015-2016, its inaugural season. There will be eight preseason games, two per team.
The Connecticut Whale will be playing the U18 Boys CT Junior Rangers, an organization in which three of the Connecticut Whale’s players (Sam Faber, Bray Ketchum and Danielle Ward) have coached. They will also take on the Minnesota Whitecaps, a professional women’s team located in Minnesota. Multiple Olympians are rostered on the Whitecaps.
The Whitecaps will also play the New York Riveters in a preseason game. The Riveters will also take on the Fire Department of New York’s ice hockey team. More on these matches here.
Later in the season the Whitecaps will play the Boston Pride Dec. 12 and 13 at Ridder Arena in Minnesota, as published on their online calendar. These are not preseason games.
The Boston Pride will match up against the Boys U16 East Coast Wizards program, as well as the Boys U18 East Coast Wizards program before the season starts, a program Pride GM Hayley Moore is affiliated with as the head of the Girls East Coast Wizards program. As Kate Reeher of Watch This Hockey pointed out in an article last week, Riveters goaltender Shenae Lundberg, Whale practice player Anya Battaglino and Riveters draft pick Alex Carpenter are all products of the Wizards program.
Per the NWHL, tickets for single preseason games will be available for purchase on nwhl.co/buy-tickets starting Tuesday, September 22nd. All preseason game tickets cost $5, with the exception of the two Buffalo Beauts at Mercyhurst University games, which are free to the public. Season ticket holders receive free entrance with proof of season package purchase.
Tickets to preseason and regular-season games can also be purchased at the door. Children under 3 years of age do not need a ticket to enter.

The NWHL has already released season ticket packages available on their website, nwhl.co. Season ticket holders will receive free admission to preseason games.
Multiple levels of preseason packages are available for Riveters fans, with one VIP package giving fans the option of adding priority seating to their game experience. Per the NWHL other arenas are not conducive to VIP seating and general admission is all they can offer at the moment.
Additionally, a representative for the league clarified in an email that student pricing for season ticket packages will be available soon.
It is uncertain if preseason games will be streamed, though regular-season games will be via Cross-Ice Pass, which is to be announced in October before the season’s start.
