Zach Parise Out Day to Day with Upper Body Injury

The Minnesota Wild are already without forward Jason Zucker as they head to Philadelphia to face the Flyers tonight – but now, they’re without alternate captain Zach Parise, as well.

The team confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that Parise will miss tonight’s game with an upper-body injury, which will hold him out day to day moving forward. The 31 year old winger did not travel with the club to the East Coast, which likely means that he’ll be out at least until this weekend; before heading back to Minnesota, the Wild will also face the Washington Capitals on Friday (and Parise’s absence suggests a high probability he won’t play in that game, either).

Drafted 17th overall by the New Jersey Devils in 2003, Parise has been with the Wild since the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season. He boasts 18 goals and 36 points over 51 games played this year, as he’s already missed time for injury earlier in the season – but that’s still good for third on the team in scoring, which makes his loss a significant one as the Wild push for the post-season.

Tonight’s game will take place at the Wells Fargo Center at 7:00 PM EST
