The Toronto Maple Leafs have added forward Seth Griffith to their roster after claiming him off of waiver before the roster deadline this evening.
Griffith, 23, has been with the Boston Bruins organization since being selected in the fifth round of the 2012 NHL Draft.
Last season he spent the majority of the season with the Bruins American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate the Providence Bruins in which the forward scored 24 goals and had 77 points in just 57 games played. He ended the AHL season with 32 penalty minutes and a plus-20 rating. He was named an AHL All-Star and was the AHL player of the month for December 2015.
In just four appearances with Boston in 2015-16 he had an assist which brought his NHL career totals to six goals and five assists in 34 games played over the course of two seasons.
In three AHL campaigns the 5’11”, 192-pound forward has put up 56 goals and 158 career AHL points along with accumulating 72 penalty minutes and a plus-19 in 165 games played.
A two time Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Champion with the London Knights he has a successful junior career with 102 goals and 129 assists for 231 career OHL points in 207 appearances with the Knights.
