Kane is no stranger to controversy. It was issues in the locker room in Winnipeg that played a part in leading the Jets to trade the left wing to the Buffalo Sabres in the first place.
The former 4th overall draft pick has 16 goals and 8 assists this season for 27 points in 47 games played. He currently sits with a negative-11 plus/minus and has racked up 69 penalty minutes.
Last season he had 22 points in 37 appearances with the Winnipeg Jets before being traded while listed on Injured Reserve (IR) to the Sabres. Due to the injury he was unable to suit up for the Sabres last season.
In 408 career NHL games split between time with the Atlanta Thrashers/Winnipeg Jets and the Buffalo Sabres organizations he has recorded 125 goals and 121 assists for 246 total points. He is a combined negative-21 plus/minus.
