The NHL is hosting their annual awards ceremony in Las Vegas in just a few weeks, when the league will head to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino just a few days ahead of the subsequent NHL Draft in Buffalo.
The league had already announced that actor and comedian Will Arnett would be hosting the awards ceremony, but now they’ve introduced the entertainment, as well, as the league confirmed on Wednesday that the rock band X Ambassadors would be performing at the event on June 22nd.
Per the official release, the event – set to be live broadcast on NBCSN and Sportsnet at 7:00 PM EST on the 22nd – will feature both Arnett and the X Ambassadors, in addition to the awards given out to the various individuals nominated by the league after the regular season.
Hailing from Ithaca, New York, the X Ambassadors rose to prominence with the release of their 2015 debut album, VHS, in the summer of 2015. With their most popular song, ‘Renegades’, hitting #17 on US charts and #6 on the charts in Canada – and their debut album going triple platinum in Canada – it’s a smart choice of band for the crowds that will be flocking to Nevada for the event in just two weeks’ time.
The red carpet for the event will begin at 5:00 PM EST/3:00 MST.
