Connecticut Whale goaltender Jaime Leonoff had a little fun with her outfit and goalie warm-up before the NWHL All-Star Game in Buffalo, NY.
Leonoff was chosen by Hilary Knight to backstop Team Knight, along with National Team net minder Brianne McLaughlin. Known for her personality on the ice, Leonoff took it to a whole new level with her police officer gear on top of her mask, and the “batting practice” she participated in just before lineups were announced and rosters were read.
While there were some alternate views captured, including one in slow motion by Meg Linehan, fans can watch video of the warm-ups below, including McLaughlin trying to score on her own teammate (during warm ups, at least).
Fans can watch the video below.
The All-Star game is being held at Buffalo’s Harbor Center arena where the NWHL’s Buffalo Beauts regularly play their home games. The Beauts’ captain, Emily Pfalzer, is the other All-Star captain today, and her team will be backstopped by Brittany Ott of the Boston Pride, and Nana Fujimoto of the New York Riveters.
The game is streaming online for fans not in the area, and highlights will be available from NWHL.co after the game.
