The Florida Panthers will re-gain forward Aleksander Barkov when they face the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday, but they’ll be without fellow forward Jonathan Huberdeau in the process.

As Florida’s third overall draft selection from the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Huberdeau has been a strong producer (11 goals and 40 points in 59 games this season alone) for the Atlantic Division club in the last few years. He’s out with an injury sustained in the team’s 3-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday, though, which could mean more of a loss in scoring for the club even as they regain one of their top point producers in Barkov.
On the other side of the ice, the Coyotes may or may not be without a top player of their own for Thursday night’s contest, as defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson is considered a game-time decision Monday night against the Washington Capitals for a lower body injury he himself sustained during Arizona’s 6-4 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Saturday. The Coyotes will likely have more information about the availability of Ekman-Larsson as the week goes on.
The two teams will face off on Thursday evening at 7:30 PM EST at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida. The two teams will then face off for their second and final meeting of the season just over a week later, on March 5th in Arizona.
