As the third day of the Preliminary Round of the 2016 World Cup of Hockey takes place today it is of note that Team Czech Republic will be without forward Radek Faksa.
Team Czech Republic will be without 6’3”, 209-pound Faksa, whom was banged up over the weekend with the opening of the 2016 World Cup of Hockey in Toronto, tonight as they take on Team Europe.
Faksa, 22, skated with the Dallas Stars in 45 regular season games during the 2015-16 season. He scored five goals and notched 12 points in his NHL season debut. In addition to time with Dallas he also played in 28 games for the clubs American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate the Texas Stars, in which he posted 15 goals and 26 points.
The Opava, Czech Republic native was selected by the Dallas Stars, 13th overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft.
While the news of another injured Dallas’ player in the tournament can be troubling to the organization and fans. Faksa will be evaluated again by a doctor to see if there is any improvement before he is cleared to take the ice again in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey Tournament.
