Boston Bruins have announced that the club has recalled forward Noel Acciari from their American Hockey Leauge (AHL) affiliate the Providence Bruins.
This marks the first professional recall of Acciari’s NHL career; and he will be joining the Bruins team on Tuesday (tomorrow) and will then be available to play in the team’s game vs. Calgary at TD Garden in Boston.
The 5’10, 208-pound forward has already appeared in 42 games with Providence during the season where he has recorded seven goals and 12 assists for a total of 19 points with 17 penalty minutes and a plus-8 rating.
Acciari, 24, played three seasons at Providence College before signing as a free agent with the Bruins organization. His four-year college career totals include 32 goals and 33 assists for 65 points in his 113 career collegiate games.
Last season, he helped the Friars capture a National Championship and was named Hockey East’s Defensive Forward of the Year.
The native of Johnston, Rhode Island signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Bruins as a free agent on June 8, 2015.
